What is TheaterMania and what is The Gold Club?
TheaterMania.com is a website launched in 1999 to connect the theater industry with consumers desiring comprehensive listings, news, reviews, interviews, video content and discount ticket offers. The Gold Club is a members-only extension of TheaterMania designed to provide theatergoers with exclusive opportunities to attend theater and live performances at complimentary and deeply discounted pricing. TheaterMania and The Gold Club are services owned by parent company TheaterMania.com, Inc.
What does my membership get me?
Membership in The Gold Club entitles you to reserve tickets to any of the shows listed at special member prices for as long as supplies last. You choose the date and time from the available list, and with a few clicks, your reservation will be made and your seats will be waiting for you. It’s that easy. (Be sure to follow any specific instructions for the theater or venue. These instructions will be on the detail page of each show and on your confirmation.)
How much is membership and how much are tickets?
Membership plans start at $99 per year or $10.99 per month. Most shows are complimentary with a small service charge per ticket (usually $5.00.) That means you can see live performances throughout the year at a price that’s well below that of a single movie ticket!
What kinds of shows are offered? Are they good?
The Gold Club has something for everyone: comedies, musicals, plays, lounge and nightclub acts and much, much more! In the past, many shows that have been listed on The Gold Club have won prestigious theater awards on Broadway, Off and Off Off Broadway. Some of our past shows have included: “Chicago,” “Jersey Boys,” “Once,” “Rock of Ages,” and “Casa Valentina” as well as many varieties of performances at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher Hall and other well-regarded venues.
How often are the shows updated?
Our show listings are updated throughout the day as new ticket inventory becomes available. Look out for new features that will allow you to keep informed on our ever-changing offerings. You can always see up-to-the-minute show listings by visiting this website from your computer, tablet or smartphone.
How can you offer tickets for free or at such a low cost?
We get this question all the time! Producers of shows view The Gold Club as a great marketing vehicle where they can showcase their production to tastemakers like you. By making these offers available to a limited and exclusive group of people, a production can generate “buzz” and develop word-of-mouth without compromising the sale of full price tickets. So if you see a show that you like, make sure to tell your friends and family about it! Some shows may ask that you fill out a brief survey after viewing a Gold Club offering. This, of course, is always optional.
How do I get my tickets?
Once you’ve selected your show, date, time and number of tickets and confirmed your order, you’ll receive an online confirmation that you can present at the theater in print or on your smartphone. We will also email a voucher to the email address associated with your account. You can always return to your account to view your upcoming and past reservations, and reprint your voucher if necessary.
How often can I see shows?
Your membership entitles you to see as many shows as you’d like. You can generally see any show offered at least once per year at these special prices. (Some shows may have different limitations.) The number of tickets you may purchase per performance will vary based on your membership plan (usually 2 or 4.)
Why can’t I see the shows you currently have listed before I decide to join?
Our arrangements with shows’ producers allow us to reveal show listings to paid members only. Great shows are available in The Gold Club daily and you may find that you can surprise yourself or someone else with an unexpected treat more often than you think!
Does my membership grant me access to Gold Club offerings in other cities?
It sure does! When you join the Gold Club in your home city you have the opportunity to also join the club in additional participating cities at no extra cost. To begin please contact your home Gold Club representative ([email protected]) and they will begin the process of setting you up with a complimentary membership for that additional city. Please note that you will need to include your credit card information for that new city’s reservation fees. Your complimentary membership will last for 90 days (annual members) or 30 days (monthly members) and follow the same time frame and restrictions as that of your home club.
Can I buy a gift membership for someone else?
A Gold Club membership is a great gift for any theater lover! You may purchase gift memberships to any annual plan for others, whether you are a member or not, by choosing “Purchase Gift Membership” from the main menu. At the end of the process you will receive a gift certificate and the option to either print it and give it to your gift recipient yourself, or have it emailed directly to him or her along with a gift message. If you are a member when you purchase your gift, we’ll also put a small “thank-you” credit on your account as soon as your gift recipient completes the signup process.
I received a gift certificate. Why do you need my credit card information?
The gift certificate entitles you to a membership in the club. We securely keep your credit card information on your account so that you can purchase tickets quickly, renew your membership and make good use of that very thoughtful gift! (You can read more about our security practices below.)

How can I refer a friend to the Gold Club? Will I get something?
That’s easy. When your friend signs up, simply ask him or her to enter your email address in the “referred by” field of the form. You may find a thank-you from us credited to your account. We hope that you’ll use it to see a great show with your friend!
What should I be aware of before joining? What’s the catch?
There really is no catch! However, we ask all of our members to read and agree to our terms and conditions before completing the sign-up process.
What if I want to purchase more tickets than my membership plan allows?
This option may be available on a limited basis depending on the show and date. If it is available, your reservation form will reflect the option to buy more tickets than your plan generally allows.
Is my personal information safe?
Yes. We take security very seriously. All Gold Club communication is transmitted over encrypted. SSL connections, allowing for data to be transmitted without the problems of eavesdropping, data tampering, or message forgery. Your credit card data is encrypted using multi-layered hardware and software encryption methodologies in a segmented network with no public Internet access. This encrypted information is stored in a separate database in a PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant facility with strictly limited and monitored access.
How do I go about cancelling my membership?

I’m trying to join, but I’m getting a message that says my email address is already on file. What should I do?
It's possible that you already have an account on file if you've purchased a gift membership in the past but never joined the club yourself. Click the "forgotten password" link and you will receive an email with password reset instructions. The link in the email you receive is a single-use link that will allow you to reset your password once. The link expires after its first attempted use and within a short time, so please click through and change your password as soon as you receive the email.
